BE INSPIRED

Our speakers

During the Anders Denken Symposium 2025, we again have inspiring speakers waiting for you.

Damien Denys

A professor of psychiatry at Amsterdam UMC and a philosopher, he connects science, care and meaning. His specialization: anxiety. Not only as a disorder, but especially as a fundamental human feeling. In a world full of stimuli, performance pressure and technology, we are increasingly disconnected from our emotions and each other. Fear is avoided, medicalized or organized away, when in fact it can be a signpost in our lives. Damiaan Denys invites us to look at fear anew. Not as an enemy, but as an essential part of who we are.

Ferry Zandvliet

After surviving the November 13, 2015 Bataclan attack in Paris, Ferry lectures on the lessons he learned after this horrific tragedy. What does this do in connecting with the environment and how do you still connect with the world around you? During the Anders Denken Symposium 2025, Ferry will discuss the universal lessons he learned from this; you really don't have to survive an attack to understand that you are responsible for your own happiness.

Ricardo McDougal

Ricardo McDougal, also known as Phreako Rico of the rap formation Opgezwolle, shares his poignant story of living with addiction at the Anders Denken Symposium 2025. After 20 years and 5 rehabs, he looks back on the moment when he kept losing connection with himself and his environment. He shares his experiences and what connection means to him.

Japke-d. Bouma

How do we deal with differences in the workplace? They can lead to misunderstandings, friction or missed opportunities, but also to connection, creativity and growth. The question is: how do you leverage those differences?
At the Anders Denken Symposium 2025, Japke-d. Bouma shares her sharp and humorous view on connection in the workplace. Do not expect woolly theory, but practical, directly applicable tips to work together better and get more out of differences.
